As a Cisco Systems Engineer I began my career working with the TSN team taking and solving help cases for Cisco’s presales group covering the entire portfolio of Cisco solutions. After a 9-month rotation in TSN, I started work as a Channels Systems Engineer. My role as a Channels Systems Engineer was to verify and supplement Cisco Partner Sales Engineers with the knowledge that they would need to properly speak about and sell Cisco solutions. I worked with major Cisco resellers within the Houston and Oklahoma City areas, traveling as needed to insure understanding and build partner relationships. During my time as a Systems Engineer, I have taught countless partner engineers about topics ranging from Webex to Hyperflex and worked to ensure that my partners had everything they needed to be successful selling Cisco products. At the end of my time with Cisco, I became a specialist for the Datacenter portfolio working with solutions such as UCS, Nexus, and Hyperflex. Additionally, I worked with the Cisco software offerings that are utilized in the creation of multi-cloud environments gaining understanding and experience within the cloud computing ecosystem.

As a VoIP and Network Technician, I configure, maintain, and operate multiple Cisco network devices including routers, switches, access points, VoIP telephones (wired and wireless), and wireless controller devices. I perform these tasks all while advising and managing clients on the operation of this equipment. Additionally, I ensure the install, configuration, and maintenance of these network devices and the quality of service provided is of the highest quality to meet the needs of the client. The completion of these tasks require me too create, modify and maintain detailed documentation for the use of the clients and co-workers to assist in the maintenance of applications such as Cisco Unity Connection (CUC), Cisco United Communication Manager (CUCM), and virtual server environments utilizing VMWare. Ultimately, maintaining consistency with service, documentation, and management of these systems allows for greater ease and success when sharing information with our larger Co-op Contractors such as Red River and General Dynamics.

As a member of The Armed Forces, Signal Communications, I installed, configured, and supported organizations' networks and network systems while advising and training superiors, subordinates, and peers on the operation of equipment. Ensuring the uptime of these networks and the quality of service was adequately proficient was a large responsibility bestowed upon me. Various tasks including routine maintenance by patching, testing, and monitoring throughout the network were a part of the checks. Troubleshooting would also occur when problems developed leading to diagnosis and resolution of the hardware, software, or other system issues. The importance of these classified and unclassified networks also lead to the implementation, planning, and coordination of network security measures such as ASA Firewall, IPS, IDS, and encryption software to protect the infrastructure of these networks and network systems
