When I reflect on what’s an essential skill for business success, it's pretty simple. 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 #1 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠.It’s allowed me to build world-class teams. I've transformed business models at IBM, The Weather Channel, International Data Corporation (IDC), and International Data Group (IDG) by listening to employees, customers, and partners. One of my proudest moments was as CEO transforming The Weather Channel advertising business into the world’s largest IoT platform, culminating in a sale to IBM for $2.2 billion in 2016.I admire the Boston Consulting Group for its transformational approach empowering enterprise organizations to grow intertwined with driving societal impact. I believe in making a difference in my community, which is why I’m a board member for the Posse Foundation (College Access & Youth Leadership), The Carter Center (Waging Peace & Fighting Disease), and Lifeline Children’s Service (International Adoption). As a fierce mentoring advocate, it’s imperative to let your team know how important they are to you. I've focused on team career development and empowerment for their professional success over the last two decades with this idea in mind. My goal is to pave the way for hundreds of new CEOs.As the former CEO of The Weather Company & General Manager of IBM's Partner Ecosystem, I oversaw a portfolio of cognitive businesses.
