I helped a local startup with the pilot launch of their flagship product, a smartphone app that finds more energy-efficient routes to help drivers save money, lower their carbon emissions, and extend the driving range of electric vehicles. I suggested and mocked up UI improvements, developed ideas and mockups for marketing campaigns, and established the company's presence on Facebook.

I helped ISR with transitioning one of their websites over to Wordpress, checking for errors and correcting them as needed, and teaching myself the basics of the platform and brushing up on my HTML and CSS in the process. After that was finished, I stayed on for a few more months to help out with other website and date entry projects as needed.

Primarily, I investigated the office file management system. I found that the only major problem was clutter due to lack of protocol for dealing with old files, and worked with managers to create a system for archiving them in a separate space. I also started learning about search engine optimization to clean up the content tags on a Commission-run website, take stock of image alt text, and draft best practices guides for using the tagging system and improving alt text; and I wrote a brief Python script to record usage of geographic information system (GIS) data files.

I oversaw a large records management project involving inventorying, sorting, and boxing several thousand medical charts to prepare for digitizing and moving to another storage facility.

I improved my attention to detail while assisting doctors and recording medical examinations, and practiced customer service skills while interacting with patients and running tests using a variety of machines.

I participated in inventorying and packing a collection of thousands of archaeological artifacts as part of a move to a new offsite storage facility, designing and building over one hundred individual custom mounts to protect delicate artifacts during transportation.
