A passionate educator fueled by an unfathomable hunger to pursue opportunity in a world that has relentlessly attempted to place limitations on people of color, Cameron Simms is a developing pioneer in education who seeks to push institutional and systemic boundaries to provide students of color equitable access to a high quality education. Cameron wears many hats, currently serving as Dean of Curriculum & Instruction Fellow and Instructional Coach at Uncommon Schools in Brooklyn, New York. As a school leader, Mr. Simms has had the privilege of leveraging his experiences and coaching expertise to develop teachers and enhance the student learning experience to equip them with the socio-emotional and intellectual capital to be leaders and competitors for today and tomorrow.His professional trajectory hasn’t been linear compared to his peers in similar role(s). In the last 5 years, Cameron has served in 4 major cities and occupied a plethora of roles, each supplying him with skill sets that have led him to be a well-rounded educator and professional. His experiences have led him committing his life to learning and leadership, and has enabled him to explore his love for travel as a means of engaging the world around him.Cameron is currently studying educational leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University with aspirations of founding his own school.
