My name is Cameron Lewis and I'm a Senior at Auburn University studying Information Systems Management with a focus in Cyber Security. I chose Auburn because it has been my dream school since I’ve been a kid, as I’ve grown up in a family with strong ties to the school. I chose to study Cyber Security because of the high demand, complex technical problem-solving skills required, and I want to be challenged in my career through daily tasks, research, training, and implementing new policies. As an ESFJ-A (MBTI personality assessment), I have strong practical skills, am good at connecting with others, and am people-focused. I enjoy challenging tasks that require me to think critically and technically. My strengths according to the StrengthsQuest assessment are Restorative, Woo, Communication, Achiever, and Analytical. These strengths emphasize my ability to solve problems, build relationships, present, be productive, and think critically. I am an enneagram type 7 which means I am extremely practical and engaged, can think well on the fly, am efficient at brainstorming and synthesizing information, and am a fast learner. I am involved in Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps here at Auburn. Through my time there I have had the opportunity to improve my leadership skills, attention to detail, ability to delegate tasks and make decisions quickly while under pressure. Air Force ROTC allows me to train to be in the military after college as an officer in the Air Force or Space Force. I have dreamed of joining the military since a young age and can apply my desire to serve with my dream of doing Cyber Security. Some of my short-term goals include getting my CompTIA Security+ and CySA+ certifications and being proficient in Python and Linux. Some of my long-term goals are to commission into the Air Force as a Cyberspace Operations Officer and to get my CISSP and OSCP certifications.
