My professional career actually began in the suburbs of Chicago in 1977 when my trio won the battle of the bands contest in the largely populated city of Elgin. I returned to Bartlett and reformed the band, began teaching private guitar lessons at Bartlett Plaza Music Center and played private parties west of Chicago. I moved back to Charlottesville, VA and after getting my degree from Berklee, I performed in many of the Boston clubs with various bands, taught at Acton Music Center and recorded with some of the top players in the area, eventually replacing Peter Calo (Carly Simon) as guitarist with Jumpstreet, a successful GB band gigging from coastal Maine to Newport and especially in and around Beantown.
