Travelling In Australia

Casual Employment

Australia

Due to the global COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020, my planned one-year career-pause to South-East Asia/Australasia became interrupted. The unpredictability of the virus and ensuing border restrictions made travelling difficult, and therefore I sought casual employment opportunities in Australia until the pandemic situation eased. - Aug 2021 – Oct 2021: Barista, Zanders (Western Australia, Australia)- Jul 2020 – Feb 2021: Waitress, Moonlight Social House Restaurant (New South Wales, Australia)- Aug 2020 – Oct 2020: Yard Labourer, Ace Landscaping and Gardening (New South Wales, Australia)- May 2020 – Jul 2020: Kitchen Hand, HMAS Cerberus (Victoria, Australia)

Further responsibilities included the streamlining of existing procedures, implementing new processes, and working to tight deadlines simultaneously for multiple projects requiring multi-team collaborations, alongside the testing of new developments. My tasks required in-depth knowledge and regular use of complex industry software including Microsoft Excel, SAP, SQL, Openlink Endur, VBA, and EOS (internal).

Responsibilities included the up-skilling of both current employees and new starters, data presentation and visualisation using Power BI for trade lifecycle analytics, and the automation and streamlining of existing and new processes including new trade types, settlement processes, and Ofgem regulatory reporting. Trust and confidence from managers enabled me to work independently and efficiently during high-pressure periods. Examples of my work include:- Implementing new market access, new products ( for example Float-Float Swaps, OTC Daily Options), and defining Back Office development requirements.- Work to tight deadlines, with multiple projects simultaneously alongside BAU (Business As Usual) support and UAT requirements, and BAU advisement and support for a 3-person team during organisation transition period.- In-depth knowledge and use of software including SAP, SQL, Openlink Endur, EOS, VBA, and Microsoft Excel.- Work with Neas Energy colleagues for process transfer and system development for Back Office functions.- Collaboration with DTS, Product Control, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting and Confirmations Teams, Invoicing and Settlements Teams, and Finance for both BAU issue resolution, and project tasks including addition of system controls and process implementation. - Dashboard design and development for Regulatory Reporting of transactions under EMIR and REMIT, combined with automated KPI extraction of issue tracking, trade counts, and data reconciliation.- Automation of brokerage calculations for all internal and external transactions, requiring collaboration between DTS, Back Office, Middle Office, and Front Office, and agility and adaptability of requirements.
