OBJECTIVEFor the past 10 years I have worked as a lecturer in the Aboriginal Special Entry, University Preparatory Program, at the University of Adelaide. The University is a research intensive environment and I had produced a number of reports relating to the program and for funding applications. In the role of Program Coordinator I facilitated the development of policies for the Indigenous Program and Unit. I also have a legal background which gives me a good grounding in the understanding of legal requirements programs and policies.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS • Admission to South Australia Supreme Court in 1997• I was also privileged to attend the WIPCE conference in Cusco, Peru, in 2009 where I gave a paper with my mother Veronica Dobson (AM) on learning and teaching the Aboriginal way. This was a highlight for me as it gave me the opportunity to work with my mother who has been a key influence in my academic development. WIPCE is the World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education and is held every 3 years.• In 2012 I attended a Diplomacy Training Program in Cambodia, I was one of two Indigenous Australians selected. I have always had an interest in working within the Human Rights arena and feel that I had made a substantial contribution while working in Indigenous Education. • Finally I was also selected to attend the Indigenous Women’s Straight Talk program sponsored by Oxfam, I met some exceptional Indigenous women committed to the political development and representation of Indigenous women in the political arena.
