• Designed a solution to stop the movement of a small-scale automobile operated by chemical means that participated in AIChe’s annual Chem-E-Car competition (won 3rd place at AIChe’s Spring 2023 competition in Gainesville)• Experimented with different concentrations of vitamin C, potassium iodide, and water to calculate the exact amount needed to get the car mechanism to travel and stop at a specific, unknown distance in the presence of starch and hydrogen peroxide

• Conducted research that aimed to extend and improve the quality of storage and shipping shelf life of coffee beans by reducing their fungal contamination through cold plasma processing• Assisted in mycotoxin level testing of coffee beans and subsequent plasma treatment utilizing ELISA protocol

• Served as one of the 25 student leader representatives of the Honors Program which annually admits 1,500 distinguished students• Performed interactive information sessions for groups of 20+ prospective high school students to enlighten them about various aspects of the Honors program and answer their questions• Managed the logistics and organized a program-wide academic conference for 300 Honors students alongside 3 other ambassadors

"Professional Development: Women in STEM" course offered by the UF Honors Program• Skillfully moderated and led small group discussions for a diverse cohort of 21 Honors freshman women from various academic disciplines that focused on fostering their professional growth and learning how to navigate the STEM landscape as a woman (ex. woman empowerment, voicing your opinion, claiming your seat at the table, self-care)• Assisted students in crafting tailored resumes, optimizing LinkedIn profiles, honing interview techniques, and refining effective communication with recruiters as well as • Mentored and guided a group of five freshman women pursuing engineering degrees to facilitate their transition into the engineering field by providing them personalized support, insight, resources, and advice on how to succeed as a woman engineer

• Directed SHPE UF’s award-winning SHPE Jr. program, an outreach program which provides STEM education, mentoring, and general resources to about 200 students at 3 local high schools and 4 local K-8 schools.• Managed a team of 4 SHPE Jr. directors, each responsible for a specific school, by adeptly formulating tailored objectives aligned with each school’s academic needs • Hosted and led virtual event for 100+ high school students that offered guidance on college apps, helped students maximize their high school experience, and informed parents on how to assist their children• Established and supervised a mentorship program at a local low-resource elementary school with 15 mentor-mentee pairs to help students navigate challenging family circumstances and achieve academic success by building supportive, comforting relationships

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) aims to empower the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential by providing students with the resources needed to do so.As a SHPE Jr. director, I:• Began the process of developing new SHPE Jr. Chapters in underfunded high schools around Gainesville• Communicated with high school faculty to promote the establishment of new SHPE Jr. chapters and to enlighten them about our mission of impacting the world through STEM awareness

• Immersed and interacted in four research workshops to maximize my potential research opportunities for Spring 2023• Explored the various research labs within the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering to discover several ongoing projects regarding food engineering• Obtained research position with Dr. Boz working on cold plasma processing of coffee beans for mycotoxin reduction

• Designed and executed a 2-day virtual corporate mixer with 40 company and academic representatives for 50 freshman engineers to introduce them to the resources necessary to learn about the industry and enhance their professional communication skills• Collaborated with a team of 12 sophomore engineers to coordinate event logistics and contact 200 educational and industry rep.• Networked with 50+ educational and industry professionals to recruit a diverse group of companies for the event

The Freshman Leadership Engineering Group is a selective and professional organization for first-year engineers in the Wertheim College of Engineering at UF. Its main objective is to help guide, serve, and motivate students to become better leaders for their future careers within engineering.As a Professional Affairs Ambassador, I:• Worked with a team of 9 undergraduates to design career-oriented events to foster engineering students' professional growth• Planned and executed professional development workshops, such as LinkedIn bootcamps and internship panels, to provide engineers essential resources to reach their professional goals• Sought to assist 50+ engineers to professionally prepare for applying for internships and co-ops
