Computers have played a large part in my life since I began high school, at a time when the home PC era was in its infancy. A few weeks into computer related courses I realised that a career in Computing Science was one I would enjoy; I’m a methodical and logical person and enjoy software engineering as both of these traits can be applied. I’ve also been able to stretch my creative muscles through UI and user experience design, both of which I thoroughly enjoy.Much of my final year at University was research based, those studies fuelled my interest in research; specifically in the areas of Human Computer Interaction and Software Engineering. My interest in Software Engineering stems mainly from my curiosity in elegant, modular and clean design. I’ve studied various development techniques throughout my career, including eXtreme Programming, Enterprise and agile development. I’m ever eager to learn about new agile methods with regards to workload management and scheduling.Outside of work I enjoy many pastimes including films & TV, reading, cooking and gardening. I a few websites which I keep for my personal use and small coding projects I pick up from time to time. I’ve more recently started dabbling with Python and a Raspberry Pi and have ideas for various standalone devices and integrated systems.In 2012 I decided to make the move to start working for myself, setting up Red Wolf Digital. Since then I’ve been working day-to-day designing, building and maintaining bespoke websites for a variety of clients. I enjoy creating clean and elegant designs to display information on the web, pushing the limits of current technologies to create modern, functional websites with a codebase that is simple and modular.
