About Corey Campbell
Corey Campbell enters his first season with the Panthers in 2021. Campbell came to Carolina from Baylor, where he spent the past four years (2017-20) on the Bears’ football staff, most recently serving as the team’s director of athletic performance. From 2017-19, Campbell assisted as an athletics performance coach. During his tenure with Baylor, the team underwent one of the most significant turnarounds in college football history. Improving from a 1-11 record in 2017 to an 11-1 regular-season record in 2019, this storied group finished with a Big XII Championship appearance, a Sugar Bowl bid, and a top 15 finish in the rankings. In his time with the program, Campbell helped to mentor and develop 17 future NFL athletes, including 5 draft picks, 3 All-Americans, 16 All-Big 12 selections, as well as many other champions in life.Prior to his time in Waco, Campbell spent a brief stint with the Jeff Brohm led Purdue Boilermakers, where he reunited with former Georgia strength and conditioning coach Justin Lovett. Campbell served as assistant director of football strength and conditioning and was responsible for designing supplementary programming aimed at adding lean mass to underdeveloped athletes, planning performance preparation and recovery/regeneration sessions, and training the Combo group, consisting of linebackers, running backs, tight ends, and long snappers. Although his time in West Lafayette was short lived, Campbell assisted in setting the foundation for a team that would go on to win its first bowl game in 5 seasons.During 2016, Campbell worked as assistant director of strength and conditioning at the University of Cincinnati. Under the leadership of Joe Walker, Campbell assisted with performance training for the Tommy Tuberville led football program. During his year with the Bearcats, Campbell assisted in developing and mentoring 7 eventual NFL athletes. Campbell also worked with Cincinnati’s golf and varsity cheerleading teams where he designed and supervised their training programs.A walk-on and two-year letterwinner as a fullback and special teams standout at Georgia, Campbell played four seasons for the Bulldogs (2010-13) and was named special teams captain four times during his senior campaign. The Bulldogs went 36-18 during his career and appeared in the 2010 Liberty Bowl, 2012 Outback Bowl, 2013 Capital One Bowl and 2014 Gator Bowl.Campbell graduated from Georgia in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in biological science and earned a master’s degree in kinesiology from Georgia College in 2016.
