Young Chartered Accountants Panel (Queensland)

As a student brand champion I networked with a range of contacts including students, university staff, members, high school teachers, and industry representatives. I represented and pitched the organisation, qualification, and designation at networking events, careers fairs, high school presentations, and various other events, and strategised and implemented marketing for the professional body on campus and on social media.

I was elected as Vice President for the QUT Accountancy Students’ Association’s 2015 committee at the 2014 Annual General Meeting. In this position, I played a key administrative, strategic, and support role amongst the committee and over the society. I liaised with our corporate sponsors, communicated effectively with university schools and departments, connected with membership card partners, and occasionally mediated over internal issues. Additionally, I acted as an ambassador and spokesperson for the society at presentations, pitches, and events. Achievements over my tenure:◦ Project managed: Graduate Networking Evening, Orientation Week, the 2015 membership card, firm-specific events, and the Semester 2 Networking Evening amongst others.◦ Co-wrote and then pitched the 2015 sponsorship proposal to representatives from Brisbane accounting firms at the event held by CA ANZ. The society subsequently rose upwards of $16,000 in sponsor pledges from a total of 13 firms for the year at this event.◦ Approached, sold to, and successfully signed on Brisbane businesses as partners with QUTASA on the association's membership card. These businesses included: Jimmy's on the Mall, Stock Exchange Hotel, Black Jacket Suiting, Aroma Café (Gardens Point), and Plough Inn.
