Since the beginning of the year I have worked closely with Melrose Cricket Club in order to try and revitalise the youth section of the club in order to improve participation in cricket in Melrose. Alongside this, I have also been working hard with the senior team in order to try and improve results and promote the team through the leagues. This role so far has taught me a great deal surrounding the organisational skills needed in order to plan and execute sport programs. There have been many challenges so far that have afforded me the opportunities to improve on my skills and knowledge including; applying for funding, spearheading a project to build new training facilities, helping build a new website, building new social media platforms as well as planning and implementing many different varieties of training programs for both the junior team and senior team (including indoor preseason as well as a cricket camp).

I have been working part-time in between my studies and coaching. This role has also given me experience working within a team environment and has aided me with similar skills from my previous restaurant job. This however also taught me how to adapt my skills from me previous jobs to fit my new customers.

I have just completed my University placement as a part of my Sports Management degree program.I completed my placement at Cricket Scotland, where I had the privilege of learning under the East of Scotland Development Officer. I enjoyed every second of my time with Cricket Scotland wherein I learnt many valuable skills revolving around cricket coaching/development in Scotland. I am very grateful for the opportunities and learning experiences that were afforded to me by Cricket Scotland and the brilliant team that they have and I hope to utilise my new knowledge surrounding Cricket development in Scotland in the future!

I worked in a large team of backroom and front-of-house staff in a busy local pub. Through my progression in my year at the pub, I was given more and more responsibility. This was not only due to my work ethic but also due to the fact that I also completed my Personal Licence test while I was employed at this pub. This gave me extra responsibilities, including opening and closing on my own as well as training new members of staff.
