I am a Registered Social Service Worker with a diploma specializing in Gerontology. I come with an array of experience having worked in both profit and non-for-profit organizations. After working in the long-term sector for several years, my journey led me back to the community sector where I enjoy feeling more connected to the people I serve. My return to the community means reuniting with and supporting those who wish to age at home.I have worked extensively in dementia care, palliative/end of life, responsive behavioural management, and recreational programming. I have experience in program management coordinating a dementia day program and scheduling assistive support services for seniors allowing them to age at home. I have strong assessment and case management skills connecting clients to other community resources. Over the years, I have worked alongside and built strong relationships with other community support colleagues in the Greater Toronto area.I believe in knowledge sharing and educating the next generation of professionals and have both supervised and mentored Personal Support Workers and other Social/Community Services students. I continue to learn, grow, and develop as a professional and look forward to continuing my career that supports seniors by providing them with the resources to live comfortably at home.
