** Dedicated and proud to be distinguished with over 23 years of service with Amtrak.** Throughout the years I have received numerous awards for excellence in Sales and Customer Service and Support. I felt honored to be flown back to Washington DC to receive two awards of distinctions with the President’s Award in 2011 and Agent of the Year in 1995. But I feel my greatest pride in the two Foundations that I have established, both inspired by my 19 year old son Luke, who was tragically killed by a white shark attack in 2010. Days after the attack I set up the Lucas Ransom Memorial Scholarship at UC Santa Barbara, to honor his life and to see that others who had the same dream as he have that same opportunity. Over past 4 years more than $20,000 in scholarships have been awarded to seven exceptional students in the field of Chemical Science at UC Santa Barbara that he was so passionate about.The other endeavor dear to my heart is Medals of Courage, established in 2011. Inspired also by our son, who donated his race medal to a child in a hospital a few months before he was killed. This endeavor provides Medals of Courage to Children's Hospital such as Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, Rady’s in San Diego and Cottage Children’s Hospital in Santa Barbara, where hundreds of children with life threatening illnesses, are awarded race medals from challenging long distance races like marathons and triathlons. These serve as symbols of courage, donated by thousands of runners from across the country, cheering them on, wanting to share their hope ,strength, and courage with them. These medals have also been shared with cancer clinics associated with some of the above hospitals, as well as at events put on by Mauli Ola Foundation, a non-Profit organization who works and supports children fighting Cystic Fibrosis. They've also been shared at numerous Ronald McDonald Houses and Camps with children fighting cancer .

  Dedicated and proud to be part of the Amtrak team with over 23 years of service. Over the past 2 decades I've helped thousands of individuals fulfill their travel dreams, during which time I have been recognized with many awards for excellence in multiple fields of sales and customer service . I designed two of the Amtrak Annual Award Pins selected to be given to top agents at Award Ceremonies. I live the words inscribed on both pins I was inspired to design ; Amtrak- Making the Dream a Reality and Commitment to Excellence. It has also been rewarding serving as a mentor to other teammates, providing support, guidance, and encouragement. I also play a critical role as a member of the Safe to Safer Team ( 2013-2015), helping to promote and encourage safety amongst coworkers in our work place.
