About Candice M. Washington
Every organization needs a visionary, an “idea-generator,” an “out of the box-thinker.”While I can do that, that’s not my strength. My strength lies in being the person who says, “What an interesting idea! Unfortunately, based on our current staff, funds, systems, and timeline we may not be able to do that exactly... but here is what we CAN do.”In short - I make new things happen: organizational initiatives, departments, programs and/or projects. I was the inaugural hire for my last three positions. My passion is to take an idea and work collaboratively to turn it into something possible while simultaneously creating a scalable plan for growth once the organization decides the project is worth a greater investment. My personality is ideally suited for building and motivating teams, collaborating across departments, and engaging both internal and external stakeholders. I would be an asset to any organization seeking to try a new initiative. With a background in logic and decision theory, I am able to analyze situations, develop solutions and implement necessary changes. I am not afraid of trying new ways of doing business. I genuinely enjoy acquiring new knowledge - from others or even self-taught, if necessary (Google has assisted me with basic skills in many areas: HTML, Salesforce, SQL and audio mastering, just to name a few.) I love the challenge of creating something new; the inspiration that comes when you least expect it; the teamwork and camaraderie that happens when you’re building together; the amazing feeling of success when it actually works! I even love the mistakes - they are an opportunity to learn.I believe that there is always a “box” when building something new - the box is determined by the resources currently available. My biggest strength is the ability to build within that box and then find a way to break through it. As Thomas Edison said, “Having a vision for what you want is not enough… Vision without execution is a hallucination.”If you have a vision you would like executed, let’s talk!
