Candy Meza was born and raised in southern New Mexico. She was raised by a diligent mother who immigrated to this country and a father who raised her to be resilient and compassionate. She is the first in her family to graduate middle school, high school, and college. Candy attended New Mexico State University, were her strong involvement and leadershipead lead her to become an advocate for higher education as a College of Business Ambassador, fighting for scholarships and financial opportunities for higher education. Candy comes from a strong background in empirical research and quantitative and qualitative reasoning. Her area of focus and interest vary form economic policy and modeling, statistical application, Finance and Risk analysis to project management, investment banking, and oil and gas industry trend market research. During Candy's public service as an Economist/Statistician for the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, augmented her analytical and critical thinking abilities. She was engaged in her community through the wonderful opportunity to make a direct impact in kids lives by being a Big Sister in the Big Brother Big Sister's ACES program, where she mentored young teenagers to pursue higher education options. When Candy isn't collecting college degrees, she's running charible races and fund raising contributions; she's a terrible runner, but worked hard and never fails to make it to the finish line. She loves her family and spending time with her sisters.
