Evangelization has been a life's passion for me since I experienced a deep personal conversion as a university student. In my seven years as a campus minister, I witnessed countless conversions in the lives of young adults who were searching for the lasting fulfillment that comes from an encounter with Jesus Christ. Through serving on two large university campuses I gained experience in the varied ways in which a person can come to know Jesus more deeply- small-group studies, retreats, mission trips, lectures, service activities, communal prayer, socials, one-on-one pastoral counselling, mentoring and discipleship, etc. For five years I served as Canada's Catholic Coordinator of Alpha. Alpha is a program for initial proclamation of the Gospel message, in a warm and welcoming group setting. It has brought countless people closer to God by introducing them to the real Person of Jesus Christ. It brought me great joy to support Catholic leaders in utilizing this powerful tool for the New Evangelization. With my wife and our friend Michael Dopp, we founded a resource called U Evangelize. Its aim is to support Catholics in developing the missionary dimension of their faith. We do this through online courses, webinars, tutorials, expert interviews and a vibrant members community of Facebook.I am also a blogger, having founded an online forum for engagement with young Canadian Catholics at CanadianCatholic.net.My experience has led to requests to speak through the mainstream media about relevant Church topics, such as the 2013 papal conclave and election of Pope Francis, World Youth Days in Rio, and the state of young people in the Church.
