With over 20 years of experience in teaching and leading in the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), I am passionate about creating an atmosphere that fosters successful learning for diverse students and teachers. As an academic interventionist, I dynamically lead a portfolio of teachers to build their skills in pursuit of improved practice and student outcomes, using data-driven and evidence-based strategies. I also collaborate with the principal and the CPS Office of Teaching and Learning to ensure alignment and support for the school's vision and goals.My background in elementary and middle school language arts and technology, as well as my master's degrees in elementary education and educational leadership, have equipped me with the expertise and knowledge to design and deliver engaging and rigorous instruction, model and co-teach lessons, and provide small group instruction as needed. I also facilitate biweekly meetings as the culture and climate lead, addressing safety protocols and developing a positive and engaging school-wide culture and climate. My teaching philosophy is simple: respect and nurture all stakeholders as integral parts of educating our future.
