With over 25 year’s experience in maritime reform projects, planning and environmental science, I have a breadth of leadership experience, including :- Designing innovative regulatory frameworks (Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSwMS), and a Collaborative Asset Management Planning Framework) - Successfully implementing several large-scale organisational changes (Maritime Regulator, Rizzo Maritime Asset Management & Planning Model, Australian Ocean Model)- Effectively planning in VUCA environments (Handover of Defence responsibility in Iraq to DFAT)- Expertise in governance, risk, and the legislative requirements of public sector entities (Work Health & Safety, Environment, Public Governance Performance Admin. (PGPA), and best practice committee and director guidelines)- Influencing varying stakeholder groups such as Australian government agencies, other Defence organisations, maritime industry and other governments (eg. Foreign Soil Evacuation Planning for Australian Citizens, Maritime Regulator, and Personnel Training as part of the Five Power Defence Agreement) - Financial planning and budget management - Motivating and leading team/workstreams of an average size of approx. 30 - 40I hold a degree in Physics, a Graduate Diploma in Meteorology and a Masters of Science in Physical Oceanography, specialising in underwater Acoustics.
