Perform 2 dry dockings;--Oversee inspections of safety equipment and requisitions;--Function as the anchor handling tug for maintaining Alyeska Pipeline Service Company buoy and mooring systems throughout Prince William Sound and Port Valdez;--Perform Geographic Response Strategy deployments in sensitive areas throughout PWS;--Support maintenance and deployment of oil spill response equipment for 5 fish hatcheries;--Maintain oil spill response readiness with 100’ x 400’ lightering barge in accordance with Tanker Plan;--Conduct annual Fishing Vessel Training in oil spill response, performing exercises in oil spill recovery tactics and strategies with local fishing fleets in Kodiak, Homer, Seward, and PWS.Chief Mate of Hawaii and Washington (6,000 HP ASD Tugs)--Perform anchor handling and barge support in Cook Inlet for oil and gas pipeline construction.Chief Mate of Alert (10,000 HP- ASD Response, Escort and Docking Tug)--Perform tanker dockings at the Valdez Marine Terminal and escorts through Prince William Sound;--Lead and instruct crew members during deck operations;--Operator during barge shifts or pilot barge alongside berths.--Complete all qualifications to sail as master of this class of tug, included were over 600 documented maneuvers, all without incident.Relief Chief Mate (Swift, Invader, Sea Victory, and VSP Protector Class Tugs)

Assistant Cargo Operations Manager (606’ RO/RO ATB Strong American or Deck Barges)--Support vessel pre-arrival negotiations and setup, and close transactions after vessel departures, with port, pilot, stevedoring, customer, and agency officials in foreign ports;--Manage cargo operations aboard ATB and deck barges in 22 countries;--Supervise international laborers and tug crews as well as plan and monitor cargo and vessel security;--Forklift operator loading/offloading 20’ and 40’ containers.Chief Mate (606’ RO/RO ATB Strong American or Tug and Tow)--Stand a navigational watch underway, pilot during dockings, and manage cargo operations in port;--Implement new safety management system;--Inventory and requisition all publications, correct world portfolio of charts, program navigational computers, collect weather routing data, and create global voyage plans;--Perform monthly checks of extensive emergency and safety gear inventory;--Set up piracy measures and organize foreign and vessel security personnel at check points;--Organize and supervise deck maintenance. 145’ Square-topsail Sail Training Schooner--Manage 8-12 crew and attend to the well-being and education of up to 50 passengers;--Plan operations, develop educational programs, and create voyage itineraries for 300 underway days per year; Organize and conduct extensive vessel maintenance program. Supervise 6 annual dry-dockings.

--Train as a deck officer aboard 3 ARCO oil tankers along the US West Coast;--Stand navigational bridge watch and cargo watch. Perform vessel maintenance.

--Serve aboard 12 tugs towing assorted barge types: grain, wood chip, RO/RO, container, conveyer, petroleum product, and coastal ship tows;--Conduct ship dockings/undockings and barge work in Puget Sound;--Complete round-trip ocean passages from the Columbia River to Hawaii, Puget Sound to Alaska including the Aleutian Island chain, Puget Sound to South America, multiple tows between Washington and California, and on station in the Arctic Ocean.
