Things that I have learnt along the way:My first job in desktop publishing taught me meticulous attention to detail, to deliver to tight deadlines, sometimes working overnight and to listen and learn from those around you.My second role allowed me to utilise my French language skills, supporting a multi-cultural, multi-lingual team. It taught me to be adaptable in my approach to relationship building, multi-tasking under pressure and to step out of my comfort zone.My third job added further strings to my bow. I learnt how much more productive a team can be when they communicate well, pushing in the same direction for the same goal. I learnt that I could put my mind to anything from liaising with the in-house chef on client dinners, arranging onsite and external corporate entertainment to managing invoicing and payments for aircraft leasing and re-decorating the oak-panelled client dining room.The first 5 years of the 21 I spent at Barclays I learnt many things but one of the most important was how to have a successful 1:1 support relationship with a very driven and ambitious boss. The greatest compliment was being asked if I’d move my role to the NYK office to continue to support him in his promotion, the first PA in the bank to have done so. My move into a line role in Operations allowed me to further extend my skills and hone new ones. I progressed from managing my own set of clients to managing a diverse team of specialists covering ISDA, CMOF & FBF trade documentation, Settlements and Sales Support. I achieved promotion to VP in 2012 and in 2017 moved into project and change management. I was able to use all the skills I’d acquired through my previous roles to enable successful transitions and manage highly successful teams. The last 4 years have highlighted how much I enjoy working with a diverse group of people, different backgrounds, experiences, aspirations. I like to make a difference to both process and person, I have a broad skillset and am always looking stretch myself and learn more. I enjoy building relationships, utilising the knowledge and skills I've gained throughout my career, connecting the dots and supporting clients and colleagues to achieve great results.
