As part of BYU's Global Supply Chain Management program, I have loved learning more about the incredible supply chains that connect our world. My experience working at the BYU Cell Phone Office has taught me how important relationships are, especially when trying to manage a complex network between corporate partners (AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile) and thousands of customers working with BYU. Working as an intern for BanQu, Inc. opened my eyes to the world of social impact and how I can truly make a difference. Although I am only one person starting out in the world, I truly want to make a difference in any way I possibly can. While completing my on-campus internship for BanQu during 2022, I also wrote a Ballard Brief, which is an informational research paper that dives into a social issue and is published by the BYU Ballard Center for Social Impact. My chosen topic was Child Labor in Ghana, and while I was writing my brief, my eyes were opened yet again to issues that I have never been impacted by. As a result of my research, I have become even more passionate about social impact, especially when it comes to global supply chains. I am lucky enough to have passions that overlap with each other, and I'm thrilled for the opportunity I have to learn more about how I can use my knowledge, skills, and desires to improve our global supply chains and solve social issues wherever I am able to.
