I was born and raised in Venezuela. Once upon a time, it was as prosperous as it is diverse. Then, as I grew up, that prosperity vanished. Today, I have ages worth of lessons learned. That's pretty cool for someone still in their twenties.My passion for writing has little to do with my Venezuelan identity, though. I actually developed it while trying desperately to run away from it. As I played at chasing a faraway American dream and brought myself up as a child of the Internet, I entered spaces that were not for me. These exclusively English-speaking spaces did not push me out on purpose; it was just cultural dissonance at play. However, I was not willing to let that go. Stubbornly, I made my way through countless mistakes and communication mishaps. I taught myself English in this trial and error way, and then, the friends I made helped me discover a passion for writing that would stay with me for the rest of my life.Writing would go on to become my craft, and help me get through the first few years of my career as I plunged head-first into the professional world. Fresh out of college with little to no working experience, I relied on nothing but my own desire to grow and learn to help me continuously improve.I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to work with many different clients in my former position as a Student Consultant. I got to do what I loved as a writer, while simultaneously developing meaningful relationships with all kinds of people. As a master of all subjects, my role was to be a mentor, advisor, and support my clients as they navigated the stress of their college journey. The satisfaction of helping my clients achieve their perfect grades made the journey all the more amazing.I have also dipped my hands in Operations and Customer Care in a more up-front way. This was a challenging, yet rewarding endeavor, as I was working in a fast-paced, start-up environment that needed me to be quick on the uptake. I learned to come up with solutions on the fly, became an expert negotiator, and managed to maintain satisfaction rates of 90% and higher through all my biweekly reports.Currently, I am exploring the gaming industry alongside the amazing team at TheGamer.com. I am learning new things every day while staying sharp in my craft, and enjoying the process immensely. I am also working on pursuing professional development opportunities in the form of a few certificates to keep growing as much as I can.Wherever I go next, you can bet that I will be taking my endless curiosity, passion for the written word, and empathy with me.
