Principal and Master Communicator founded Careful Design on January 1, 2000, following 10 year as General Manager for Handled With Care, a Marketing and Communications Company. Manages all Careful Design accounts, and has specific responsibility for data management, copy writing, graphic, video and audio production. Spent ten years in San Francisco working as Art Director for Hayes Design Studio, and five years as the Art Director for ACC Printers in Berkeley. A philanthropist and a member of many non profit organizations.Joined the Rotary Club of Pittsburg California in January 2013, became President July 1,2013. In 2015 left and joined a Satellite club and started the process of creating a new diverse, equitable, and inclusive Rotary eClub. Past President and Charter member of the Northern California Gateway District 5160 that Received Rotary International Charter December 4, 2018.Member of District 5160 Paul Harris Society, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee member, past and current Membership Committee Chair, Past Member of the Public Image Committee, Polio Plus Society member and Leadership Academy Graduate. Charter member of Rotary’s Membership Society. Attended RI Conference in Sydney Australia, Sao Paulo Brazil, Seoul Korea, Atlanta Georgia, and Toronto Canada.

The Rotary Club of Northern California Gateway District 5160 is an organization of community-minded people who seek to make a difference in their community by providing “the three T’s” – volunteer TIME, TALENT, and TREASURE (financial resources) to the Rotary clubs of Rotary District 5160. Unlike traditional Rotary Clubs we meet online the first Thursday of every month, and quarterly socials four times a year, sponsors no service projects* and performs no fundraising activities*. Instead, members are encouraged to attend the meetings of any other Rotary club on days and at times that are convenient for them. Members are also encouraged to support the service projects and fundraising activities of any Club in the District that they find appealing and as their schedule permits. The primary objective of membership to “make a difference” in ways that work for YOU.

Open to all Rotary Past Presidents in the District, the Rotary Academy is designed to give those choosing to volunteer their time in the District Organization a broad overview of the scope of Rotary.

In a shared vision, that a connected world is a stronger one, the Rotary Foundation and Google lunched a new virtual reality experience to showcase the impact of compassion to a global audience, and to take viewers on an emotional journey intended to inspire philanthropic support of the many Rotary causes, including global polio eradication and peace.

Rotary’s public image is shaped by the actions of each of its members, as well as by its involvement in the community, its presence on the web and social media, and the publications it produces. The district public image committee, led by its chair, works actively to shape that image, and the district public image seminar is an opportunity to work with clubs to teach them how to do this in a way that promotes community awareness of Rotary’s work around the world.

Set goals for each committee. Encourage communication between club and district committees. Review activities, goals, and expenditures and participate in decisions. Supervise the preparation of club budget and proper accounting practices, including an annual financial review. Make sure secretary and treasurer have an account on Rotary.org to update membership and club data regularly. Collaborate with the governor and assistant governor on club and district matters. Communicate important information from the governor and the Secretariat to club members. Prepare for the district governor’s required visit. Follow Rotary’s youth protection policies and the Statement of Conduct for Working With Youth and implement the requirements for the Youth Exchange program. Plan and lead monthly board meetings. Plan and lead interesting and relevant club meetings and organize fun social events. Ensure that comprehensive training is conducted for club members, as needed. Involve members in carrying out your club’s goals outlined in Rotary Club Central. Track my club goals in Rotary Club Central. Encourage members to attend district meetings, and promote the Rotary Convention. Attend the district conference. Submit an annual report to your club on the club’s status before leaving office. Work with my successor before leaving office. Arrange for a joint meeting of the incoming board of directors with the outgoing board. The organization was teaching printing, desktop publishing and design to organizations representing the interests of the low income community as well as low income individuals: job seekers needing to design and print resumes, people starting their own business and more. In charge of several publications production, from creative to distribution for offices throughout USA, and a few international ones.
