I have been working in the electrical industry for a little bit, now. Certainly more lower paced than home building! But we do alot of work with the cities, counties, school boards, utility companies. I have learned even more than I already knew. My general position in Office Management within the Custom Home Building / Construction Industry includes, but is not limited to:Business Management, AR/AP, Human Resources, Payroll, Licensing, Permitting, Job Costing, etc... But beyond that, I end up doing everything from Purchasing, Estimating, Scheduling, Research, and Project Management, to being in the field, on the Job, handling various things on the Project. I really love the construction industry. I am fortunate to have widely varying roles within a single position, allowing me to utilize my diverse skills to benefit a shared goal. To be entirely honest, I wouldn't want it any other way because, oddly enough, I am at my best when there is kind of organized chaos surrounding me. I suppose, I tend to get bored easily and my mind needs to stay challenged, and fully occupied. And let's not ignore... who wouldn't love the rush of it all?!And regardless of how many years you have under your belt, with an endless amount to learn in this industry, it is thrilling to always be learning something new.
