Carey (Churchill) Cort began her tenure as Chair of the Board at Big Sister Association of Greater Boston in May 2021 after several years serving on the Board of Directors of the organization. Carey plays a key role in the fiscal and strategic oversight of Big Sister, as well as broadening the organization's philanthropic community and its focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Prior to her appointment, she served on the organization’s Marketing, Nominating & Governance, Development, Program, and Events Committees. Carey’s involvement with non-profits in the Boston metro spans twenty years in roles of leadership, volunteerism, board service, fundraising and community engagement.Previously, Carey was a Board Member of the Webb Innovation Center for Dyslexia (2014 to 2019), and an Events Committee member for the Carroll School (2017 to 2019). Both organizations are in Lincoln, MA. Additionally, she was a Committee Member of Massachusetts General Hospital for Children, where she worked on fundraising for the annual Story Book Ball from 2003 to 2009.Prior to joining Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, Carey had an esteemed career in marketing communications, within sectors inclusive of financial services, technology, and hospitality. Additionally, Carey was the founder of a marketing communication consultancy focused on digital media. Carey holds a Bachelor of Art’s from New England College and completed marketing courses from the Harvard Extension. She is a Certified Yoga Instructor, as well. Carey lives in Lincoln, MA with her family, and their Corgi, named Olive.
