About Carey Murphy

Hi I'm Carey, I live in the beautiful part of Aotearoa, New Zealand in Northland. We moved out of Auckland a while ago looking for a place where we could enjoy the outdoors and offer a peaceful resting place for our large family to come when they wanted a break from Auckland. In Auckland I ran my own Career Education Exploration programmes with Intermediate school-age children - we explored and discovered many aspects of ourselves, our self-awareness, learning styles, values, the world of work, we learnt about the impact of influencers, stereotypes and so much more, developing ideas around how to make decisions in the future and the value of knowing you have that ability to manage your future.I was a careers consultant at Career Services rapuara and a MOE contracted consultant at Selwyn College with the Refugee students. Working alongside groups or individuals, no matter how diverse, essentially my role was encouraging and engaging adults and teens in building relationships and career pathways and decision making processes.I have over my career, whether it be volunteering or paid roles, maintained a thirst to continue my own learning, one which underpins my career development and personal development philosophy of supporting others and myself to reach my/their full potential.Updated :A brief overview about me now, I am now an Educator and Innovator building a transformative online learning platform embracing my love of career and personal development. Since beginning this journey, as an independent consultant, I am inspired, to be able to consider and create new possibilities for my future. As a career consultant for many years, I treasured the opportunity to raise awareness, aspirations, and agency in the lives of people. Starting a new venture has been exciting and challenging learning new professional skills and unpacking some beliefs that no longer serve me. This has been a perfect solution as we now live rurally in New Zealand and I can still inspire others to consider their future possibilities. To change course on this journey in our career and life requires course adjustments. "Where you go from here is up to you, only you can choose to become the best version of you" Unknown.
