- Responsible for supporting the broad, overall technical operations and customer technical focus for the company. This function includes internal quality management system and external customer technical requirements. It is achieved by supporting the head of technical in a broad remit of tasks planned and reviewed across the year.- Developing and maintaining the company quality system in accordance with BRC requirements. This involves following an annual cycle of review and revision of all aspects of the quality system. This accountability also includes internal audit / traceability / product recall. - Point of contact and action for all customer requests for non contract customers. This will include but not limited to new line form / specification / SAQ approval documents and artwork for Martin Mathew brand products. - Responsible for customer complaints: Investigate and respond mannerly to the customers with conclusions of the investigations. Target a specific timeline for resolution. Keep in contact with the supplier and the customer. Ensure the complaint system is used throughout and the NC form is closed out at the end of the issue.- Creating new barcodes for product labels using the GS1 system

- Providing accurate checks to technical specifications to Tesco.- Performing checks and proof-reading on Tesco artwork.- Complete internal trackers/checklists as appropriate.- Ensuring artwork approval takes place in a timely and accurate manner.- Attend meetings when required to offer guidance on regulations.- Keeping up to date with legal requirements and our Tesco labelling policies.- Providing exceptional technical and customer service, driving continual improvement to deliver accurate and legally compliant artwork.- Provide in-depth analysis of labelling issues as they occur, assess impact and advise on most favourable solution.

- Supporting the site Technical Manager in ensuring compliance on site for food safety, technical performance improvement, processes and practices against the customer codes of practice and industry standards to support the business “audit ready” status.- Ensuring all relevant policies, procedures and records are updated and implemented.- Responsible for enhancing in-house and supplier compliance (microbiology, processes, customer non-conformances) from raw material and manufacturer upwards to satisfy legal and customer requirements. Assist in the resolution of compliance related non-conformances in a timely manner.- Ensuring microbiological, water and other necessary testing meet the required schedules to meet customer requirements and changes associated with them. Update the company schedules as required. - Key contact for microbiological and other required test results actions. Promptly and effectively manage out of specification results, communicating them to the relevant people within the business and follow up that the actions that have been undertaken. - Trending microbiological results and ensuring appropriate reaction to adverse performance and drive improvements via preventative action plans.- Supporting site during Internal and 3rd party audits and visits where required and ensure compliance non-conformances are actioned in a timely manner and reviewed to ensure no repeat issues.- Responsible for managing site pest control and take appropriate action for the issues raised by the pest controller. - Working closely with technical, growing, procurement and supply chain teams to drive a continuous improvement culture throughout the businesses.- Investigating, trending and responding to complaints in accordance with the customer deadline. Analyse trends and implement measures to reduce the number of complaints- Carry out forward and backwards traces as required.- Conducting Internal audits and fabrication audits.

- Managing Specifications Writing and/or Approval for brands and co packed products- Supporting Innovation, Marketing & Customer Service Team by providing verification of compliance to all relevant legal requirements in order to the products to meet all due diligence requirements.- Supporting Innovation & Marketing Team through development of new and revised artwork- Continually assess quality levels by ensuring performances of manufacturing sites- Ensure to all European legal, statutory and regulatory requirements are met by spirit of the current law on all Brand Products when portrayed in the public domain, either by product label, specifications, websites, advertising and social media- Monitor and audit the nature, number and significance of complaints recorded by the operating sites for trending analysis and that appropriate remedial actions have been taken.

- Assisting and providing cover for the Quality Manager- Member of the HACCP team- Completing regular audits (Weekly GMP audits, Hygiene and Fabric Audits, Monthly Internal Audits and Glass Register)- Completing online product specifications for big retailers (Sainsbury’s, Iceland and Lidl)- Investigating and responding to retailer/customer queries and or complaints- Monitoring, maintaining and developing the Quality Management systems and procedures for the dairy- Laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration

- Ensuring all documentation required to achieve BRC Global Standard for food accreditation is maintained and updated.- Dealing with all the customer requests, by sending out the latest version of the prepared quality statement, or by completing the customers own format. Ensuring the suppliers meet quality standards and comply with major retailers policies(Waitrose, Morrisons, M&S, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda, Lidl) about maintaining product safety, quality and legality.- Maintaining the Supplier Assurance database – collating questionnaires, filing essential information, e.g. HACCP Plans, Certificates, Policies, Insurance, MSDS, Specifications, etc.- Preparing, in conjunction with the Technical Manager, any specifications required by customers- Checking Certificates of Conformity for accuracy, designate recipient and prepare Certificates of Analysis.- Operating the QA Results database, including the physical filing of laboratory results.- Dealing with supplier non-conformances and customer complaints.- Purchasing material necessary to the laboratory.- Supervising and managing the Pest Control audits.- Maintaining of calibration Certificates for all the equipment in the laboratory and production.- Carrying out internal audits for traceability, prerequisite, vertical audits, product inspections and GMP audits.- Covering the laboratory technician in case of sickness/absence or holidays and assist with additional laboratory duties.

- Ensuring all documentation required to achieve BRC Global Standard for food accreditation is maintained and updated (BRC audit in October 2015, Score: AA Grade)- Logging and investigating customer complaints to ascertain the cause of the complaint and responding to the customers accordingly- Completing regular line checks and internal audits which include paperwork and GMP audits and driving standards- Ensuring all raw materials and packaging is of a high quality and purchased only from approved suppliers- Creating and updating product and raw material specifications on the system, including recipes, ingredient declaration, allergen and nutritional information- Investigate, complete reports, implement corrective actions to ensure all the HACCP, CCP’s are monitored and under control- Reporting directly to the Technical Manager and manage the quality assurance team- Collect samples and take environmental samples for micro-testing in the laboratory and monitor product shelf life and quality of all the products.

- Educating team members on best practices in food hygiene and quality standards and facilitate training in proper food handling techniques - Conducting regular calibration of probes and other food safety equipment- Responsible for conducting internal audits, including all the manufacturing processes and keeping food safe on display at the store- Responsible for organizing monthly and preparing food samples and environmental swabs for analysis in the external laboratory, interpreting the bacteria results and take the necessary corrective actions- Dealing with customer complaints, starting with investigation and implement the corrective actions- Daily inspections in the store to control pests and monthly with the inspector from the external company. - Responsible for the administration of the department, including checking, revise and archive all the food safety paperwork from all the departments - Responsible for keeping and ordering all the food safety and cleaning products and all the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)- Participating on all matters relating to Food Safety (EHO) and Health & Safety
