Left School with eight Standard grades and two Highers and completed Business Administration Course at Elmwood college. Through positions held in initial work career, practical administrative experience and skills were soon developed. Self employment in retail shops meant a first taste of business experience and with that the very quick development of business accounting skills along with payroll, VAT, purchasing, staff management and even some creative design. Later change of direction in business led to dealing with import/export procedures to production of management accounts and projections. Completed a Training of Trainers course at Glenrothes College in 1995 and won the Hughes Award (and £40!) for best student. Through the engagement and operation of various business activities within the group over a number of years, a strong knowledge of a range of key management and financial skills has been gained which has allowed the business to thrive and run efficiently and successfully. Strategic planning and communication skills have been developed and used to build relations with key customers, buyers, distributors and suppliers on a worldwide platform. Teamwork and incentives in the work place are greatly promoted and used as motivational tools.
