I went through the Electrical apprenticeship training program with IBEW Local 1 out of St. Louis, Missouri and acquired my Journeyman wireman's card in 1999. I continued to work as an electrician until 2007. I went back to college and received my Associates in applied sciences in 2007. In 2017, I began working for Sprint as a Building Management and Engineering Network Operations Technician. Sprint merged with T-Mobile and I am still in the same job with a slightly different title. We are now referred to as Critical Facilities Network Operations technicians. I continue to grow in my position and look for every opportunity to acquire more knowledge. My current responsibilities include the items listed below. Monitor building automation system alarms for HVAC, fire, power and security. Troubleshoot alarms and dispatch vendors to fix the issues when necessary. I multitask to include answering phone calls from site techs and vendors checking in and out of our sites, reply to emails and monitor and troubleshoot alarms.Manage outage bridges and partner with CEE/FM teams on Urgent and emergency issues. Prepare for Disasters (Hurricanes/extreme weather) by ensuring we have adequate fuel. Monitor the generators closely to keep them up and running and will dispatch, monitor and report any issues that arise. Proficient in Pier 2.0, Corrigo, as well as BAS, SMS and Webctrl alarming platforms. I use Corrigo on a daily basis to dispatch vendors and reach out to vendors for an ETA or an update on an existing ticket. I have excellent customer service skills and I enjoy seeing an issue being resolved from first seeing the alarm to the work being completed by a vendor.I have trained many of our new Network operations technicians.
