By investing in young people, we increase the changes for them to have better access to the labor market in a continuous and stable manner and be able to lead an independent economic existence. What makes young people so different? Young people distinguish themselves from the adults through their phase of life.The road to independence and successful employment requires a specific approach, because young people:- have problems on several different levels, problems they often cannot solve by themselves- Have little work experience.- Are at the beginning of their career and need support in pursuing a career.- Don”t know the way how to reach the right authorities- Want to be helped in another and faster way.- Are especially interested in short-term results.- Are in transition between various stages of life.- Are sensitive to group pressureThis implies that youth approach:- must provide information and support that is low-threshold and familiar- Not problem-oriented but perspective-and development-oriented- Targeted in multiple living areas- has to be stimulating, motivating and enthusingAs program manager youth approach, I aim to ensure that services to youngsters, provide reliability and quality assurance within a range of applications within my organisation Weener XL, Work & Income. However, my goal as a program manager is "bigger". Efficient youth approach demands an overarching aim.     Sinds 2003 ben ik werkzaam als teammanager binnen de Unit Werk van Arbeidsmarkt en Sociale Zaken ’s-Hertogenbosch. Vanaf 2011 ben ik leidinggevende van het jongerenteam in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Het jongerenteam bestaat uit professionele casemanagers die jongeren begeleiden naar werk en of school. We zetten ons in voor jongeren tussen de 18 en de 27 jaar die of beroep doen op een WWB uitkering of beroep willen doen op onze dienstverlening.Onze visie is: School gaat boven Werk, Werk gaat boven Uitkering.Onze dienstverlening bestaat o.a.uit: Motiveren door stimuleren, coachen, spiegelen en confronteren Insteken op terug naar school ( regulier/leerwerktrajecten/etc) Bemiddeling naar werk  Jongeren een stapje dichter bij de arbeidsmarkt of opleiding brengen  Samenwerking met hulpverleningsinstanties voor jongeren met problemen op psychisch, medisch of sociaal gebied Het bieden van schuldhulpverlening ( stabiliseren van schulden) Inzet van jobcoach en lifecoachIedereen heeft met tegenslagen te maken in zijn of haar leven. De ene meer dan de andere. Soms zijn de tegenslagen zo groot dat je dit niet alleen kunt oplossen. Opvoeding, sociaal milieu, talenten en competenties zijn factoren die bepalend zijn voor wat je wel of niet kunt bereiken in het leven. Met name jongeren hebben nog een hele toekomst voor zich en weten vaak niet wat ze willen of kunnen. Hierin kunnen we als jongerenteam een bijdrage aan leveren. Ik ben een people manager. Het team is de motor waarop je draait en je resultaten behaalt. Investeren in je mensen levert energie, betrokkenheid, enthousiasme en gedrevenheid op.Dat betekent ook talenten herkennen en benutten. Mensen in hun kracht zetten. Kijken naar oplossingen en niet naar belemmeringen. Wat ik van mezelf maar ook van anderen vraag is passie voor hun werk.
