CurrentI was hired into a newly-created position to improve subject matter experts’ writing and content quality. I began by producing an array of writing and editing projects (including ghostwriting), then was promoted into another new role leading editorial and publication design services for authors / subject matter experts. This has been a fantastic role; I have the opportunity to work in a diversity of subject areas and with smart, passionate people. I upgrade content so it shows in the best possible light for maximum impact. The content involves some of the most important issues confronting America today. I have increased editorial work capacity by creating, training and managing a team of freelance writers, editors, and graphic designers. Currently I manage 6-8 team members, often writing for executive team; we review materials produced by C-suite for accuracy and impact. I provide expertise in creating keynote presentation slide decks, employee communications, executive correspondence, board memos, and e-alerts.* Improved content quality, boosted blog analytics, and earned repeated executive praise by building rapport and working with think tank subject matter experts.* Created internal representation guidebook to provide guidance on how organization consistently talks and writes about ethnicity, race, culture, gender, and equity. * Propelled organization into calibrated response to rapidly-unfolding COVID-19 pandemic with quality content and tie-ins to key organization issues.* Fueled new newsletter into achieving 93,000 subscribers in just 3 years with high favorability ratings.* Enhanced e-alert quality to increase open rates; worked with researcher authors to create bulleted, “Tweet-ready” content format that also got main takeaways in front of e-mail recipients. * Developed and implemented cloud-based workflow editorial process, streamlining and expediting publication development and approval processes while eliminating chronic communications gaps.
