Responsible for all aspects of plant operations including production, engineering, materials management, customer service, quality, and shipping. Reported to the Director of Operations, managed 9 department heads, and a team of 30 production employees.Completed plant start up on time and under budget. $750MM steel fabrication company serving the manufactured house and recreational vehicle (RV) industries with approximately 1,000 employees in 12 locations across the US.; Responsible for all aspects of plant operations including production, materials management, safety, quality, and shipping as well as plant administrative functions. Reported to the National Operations Manager, managed 5 department heads, and a team of 50 production employees.Designed and executed a successful turnaround strategy for a plant faced with disappointed customers, high raw material costs, low profitability, and an unhappy workforce.Drove profitability from 9% to 22% in less than one year (the top performer of the company's 41 plants) by decreasing labor cost from 25% to 12%. Awarded "General Manager of the Year" in 2005 and "Co-General Manager of the Year" in 2004 for our initial progress, efficiency, and sustained profitability.
