I began my role at Planet Office Systems as an Apprentice in the Workshop.My duties and responsibilities were:- Building and deploying systems for different customers, which consisted of different Operating Systems and build images.- Repairing desktops/laptops for corporate and retail customers.- Provide an accurate analysis and diagnosis of the issues and then research a solution.- Disassemble devices to identify issues with internal components such as the Motherboard, memory, hard drives...- Test new Operating Systems with the latest software to make sure all was compatible.After 1 year and a half, I became a First Line Support Engineer (Helpdesk).My duties and responsibilities were:- Responsible for large Antivirus Deployments being McAfee, GFI Cloud among others.- Migrations from E-mail Platforms such as Google Apps to Office 365.- Deploying & managing Office 365 environments.- Tasks based in Active Directory and non-AD infrastructure such as creating, modifying and removing user accounts as well as resetting passwords. - Creating Organizational Units and Security Groups, working with Shares and NTFS permissions.- Attend site to perform audits of equipment on new clients and perform routine checks for our current clients.- Manage servers and perform necessary maintenance when required such as updates and hard drive replacements.- Manage corporate desktop/laptop builds to make sure they were correctly set-up for the client.
