Carlos has been working in ecology and nature conservation for over 25 years. He is Director of Ecoacoustics / Technical Director with Baker Consultants, following previous consultancy posts at URS, BSG Ecology and Atkins. Prior to this, he spent seven years in the Conservation and Recreation department of Severn Trent Water. Carlos is a highly-skilled field ecologist, data scientist, and biodiversity manager. He has carried out ecological studies for research, conservation and development-related projects across the UK, and in France, Spain and Portugal. His main scientific focus and publications record is on innovations in bioacoustics, with additional work on wetlands and the effects of climate change. He has published research and professional good practice guidance covering biodiversity assessment. He leads a team of a dozen ecologists, undertaking a wide range of EIA studies on projects ranging from large housing and commercial developments, leisure facilities, power and transport schemes. In addition, he is a part-time Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University, leading a module on Environmental Impact Assessment and contributing to a range of other topics.Twitter: @abr_eco
