"A healthy soil is a noisy soil"
Traditional methods of assessing soil health involve labour-intensive practices, such as digging worms pits or taking samples for lab testing. While effective, these methods are expensive and time-consuming for farmers and land managers.
We have discovered and developed a new ecoacoustic method for monitoring soils by listening to the sounds that are generated by earth worms, insects and small mammals. The technique is quick to carry out, inexpensive and will be a disrupter to the soil testing market. We are rolling out a completely new way of monitoring soil health that can be use world-wide.
We have developed and tested a Soil Acoustics Meter (SAM) (worldwide patents pending) which can be used to collect the sounds of the soil. Each sample only takes a few minutes to collect. We then process the data using our own AI driven analysis and provide a report on your soil health.
This new soil acoustic service in the culmination of a 2 year, Defra fund research project carried out with Warwick University which has proved that "A healthy soil is a noisy soil".
