My current research interests are related with the combination of experimental results of crystal lattice energies for the development/improvement of atomic force field to be used in the prediction of the properties of solid materials. I’m especially interested in two main research fields: the first is related with development of reliable force fields for organic materials to be used in the study and prediction of the occurrence of polymorphism in compounds with pharmaceutical interest; The second field is related with the lack of parameters to describe the behavior of transition metals in molecular dynamic or Monte Carlo simulation. Therefore, I’m interested in the development of force fields for transition metals from the lattice energies of organometallic compounds, so that these parameters could be further used in the study, for example, of proteins that include these atoms.
