Responsibilities and accomplishments include:• Install and upgrade oracle Grid Infrastructure and database software as well as create databases using dbca.• Apply rolling patches to GI and databases using opatch auto with little to no customer impact.• Review and deploy requested DML/DDL changes to test and production environments.• Upgrade databases to newer versions using dbua, datapump export/import and GoldenGate switchovers.• Create and maintain ASM diskgroups including configuration of ACFS managed mounts.• Create standby databases using rman duplicate from active database.• Support backup and recovery using rman catalog, datapump export/import and flashback restore points.• Create, maintain and schedule shell scripts in crontab to execute commands and SQL and email results.• Troubleshoot and resolve SQL performance issues using Grid Control, AWR/ADDM/ASH reports, SQL explains, sql_trace, autotrace, SQLT, and data dictionary queries. Experienced working with SQL profiles, SQL plan baselines and identifying new indexes needed to reduce IO and improve performance.• Document, test and execute Data Guard and GoldenGate procedures to support switchovers between major data centers in the US, Europe and Japan• Completed infrastructure upgrade projects that required building new RAC clusters, creating databases and configuring GoldenGate replication. Switchovers to new infrastructure was accomplished with little to no downtime using active/active GoldenGate replication. RAC builds included installation of AHF and EM agents.

Provided primary support to resolve DataMirror replication outages and data synchronization issues including software patches and upgrades. • Initiated and implemented project to replace costly CA database tools with IBM alternatives resulting in savings of $900,000 over 5 years. Converted all database production jobs to use IBM database utilities.• Maintained SMF statistical database to monitor performance and provide reports to management as required.

Provided key technical and end-user support for MVS Mainframe payroll system and major interfaces - Employee Benefits, Stock Purchase, 401(k) Plan and data transfers to Accounting Systems. • Team member of project to convert existing HR/Payroll systems to PeopleSoft DB2 platform. Role included data mapping analysis, writing data extract programs and validating data conversions.• Designed, programmed, tested and implemented 401(k) Paperless Payroll Processing Interface with Wells Fargo Bank. Wrote all required COBOL programs and JCL modules including backup and restore procedures.• Worked directly with outside vendors to develop, enhance and support payroll interfaces.Provided key technical support for MVS Host File Maintenance of IBM 4680 retail store platform. Support areas included command generation to retail store computers; retrieval, breakout and reporting of store scanner data; and checker productivity, frequent shopper, and store ordering applications. Developed and maintained COBOL and Assembler programs. Provided off-hours support for nightly batch cycles.
