In April 2021 he left the Naturgy Energy Group, a Spanish gas and electricity utility, where he had worked during 20 years, to launch WS SLOT SA, a Swiss hydrogen start-up where he is the Chief Business Development Officer. In Naturgy he held executive positions from 2000 until 2021. He was Head of Sales for power generation engineering Services (2017-2021) and VP Business Development Asia at GPG, the international IPP arm of Naturgy, and CEO of GPG Australia when securing the first PPA for a a 100 MW wind power plant. Before this, Carlos was VP Sales Operations and Maintenance for power plants of all technologies. From 2008 until 2011, Carlos was the country manager of UF Gas in the Philippines, implementing a gas exploration program with the DOE of the Philippines. From 2001 until 2008 Carlos was the CFO of the Spanish Egyptian Gas Company that built the USD 1,5 billion, 7 bcm LNG plant in Damietta, the largest LNG train ever built at that time. From 1995 until 2000 Carlos held various business development positions in ABB and Alstom Power Generation. From 1990 until 1995 he was the managing director of FG Electricidad, a French company that built 10 minihydro power plants in Spain.
