Growing up on a farm and ranch in Northwestern North Dakota, I knew I wanted to be a farmer and rancher. As I grew older, I became increasingly aware of the importance of agriculture to our society. With technology continuously advancing, farming is an industry that is being left behind.Majority of farmers are getting old and are passing up on the new technology in the industry because of their lack of knowledge. In one of the most important industries, new technologies are being passed over in an everchanging world. There needs to be someone to educate and work them through the transition.I am currently a Second year Agriculture Systems Management at North Dakota State University. I am majoring in ASM while minoring in animal science and precision agriculture. After my time at NDSU, I plan to return home to pursue a career in the agriculture industry to help decrease the gap between farmers and technology to help them become more productive and efficient.
