Assists in the management and retention of large group (100+) employee benefits clients by acting as the central focal point for day-to-day administrative and technical client needs:-Answers client questions regarding procedural/compliance issues, claims issues and plan provisions including, but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, HSA, HRA, COBRA administration, wellness programs, and leave management. -Researches client questions regarding ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, Section 125, Medicare, ACA, and other legislation as it relates to employee benefits compliance. Keeps abreast of general legislative issues, changes or updates.-Develops employee communication materials to be used in announcing and explaining plan changes, new plans, cost changes, or carrier changes. -Conducts in person and virtual employee meetings for Open Enrollment or various educational topics. -Coordinates the implementation of new plans/policies. -Throughly reviews plan documents (master application, master policy, and summary plan description) for completeness and accuracy. -Maintains internal client files, records and databases, as needed.

• Direct supervision and leadership over a team of 9 Claim Examiners handling over 800 Short Term Disability claims• Presents to brokers, employers, prospective and existing clients regarding the Short Term Disability product• Coaches and mentors staff• Ensures top talent is hired and facilitated 3 rounds of hiring• Encourages staff development through bi-weekly one-on-one meetings, training opportunities and stretch assignments• Responsible mid-year and year-end performance appraisals and ongoing performance management

• Successfully mentored new team members as well as employees struggling with claim handling• Facilitated Monthly Senior meetings• Assisted in the writing of PTO and Backup duty policy• Performed the re-write of department mentoring documentation used in the onboarding of new employees• Successfully managed a full caseload of Short Term Disability claims, including complex claims
