I assist in the upkeep and organization of the labs and workshops in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department and the Electronic Design Center. I also implement creative ideas and projects to improve the department’s atmosphere and student involvement. I began this role in Summer 2024 and have decided to continue into the school year. I love this student job because it allows me to give back to a place that has significantly impacted my education as well as myself.

During my 12-week internship, I was fortunate to be a part of a pioneering gene therapy company operating within a GMP facility. I played an active role in drafting various process and equipment related documents (including SOPs, Risk Assessments, Gap Assessments, and Facility Fit Assessments). I even had the opportunity of witnessing firsthand the execution of gene therapy manufacturing and the stringent quality standards that come with working in such a field. This experience has left me extremely moved by the immense potential of this revolutionary field of medicine.

I contributed to a clinical research project dedicated to studying how tobramycin antibiotics impact the hearing levels in CF patients. My responsibilities encompassed preforming data analysis using MWPharm and Excel software, as well as observing patient visits. The internship culminated with a capstone presentation in front of faculty, peers, and judges. During my time at Children's, I was also honored to receive the Schmidlapp Young Woman Scholarship, which enabled me to present my research at the American Auditory Society Conference in Arizona, providing a valuable opportunity to share my research on a broader stage with experts in the field. I am so grateful for Dr. Lisa Hunter and the Schmidlapp Foundation for the opportunities and mentorship I received from my first clinical research experience.

Summer nanny for two children ages 7 & 12. Responsible for day-to-day care, transportation, and tutoring.
