Coordinate and manage the Trauma Injury Prevention program for the region’s only Level II Trauma Center. Utilize trauma registry data and other sources of injury data to monitor injury trends and research, budget, design, implement, and evaluate outcome-based injury prevention programs. Effectively implement community education and event coordination throughout Gundersen Health System’s tri-state service region to include diverse populations resulting in increased knowledge and awareness on safety and injury prevention topics for all ages. Represent the Division of Trauma on appropriate internal and external committees, collaborate with numerous community coalitions, and maintain a public presence for the prevention program.

Provided advanced administrative services for the departments of General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Audiology, Urology, and Otolaryngology using a range of computer systems and applications to support the work of management and staff within the Surgery Service Line. Provided high volume calendar management for over 40 staff and clinicians to include scheduling meetings, appointments and events. Contributed to ongoing projects in departments within the Surgery Service Line and assisted with delivering project requirements and meeting deadlines. Part-time FTE dedicated to assist the Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator in planning, promoting, and implementing safety programs and initiatives locally and regionally.

Provided medical dispatch of ground ambulance and air medical transport for three medical transportation services covering parts of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota. Worked in collaboration with Admission Referral Coordination Center staff, hospital department representatives, physicians, and leadership teams to foster relationships with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staff around the concept of patient transfers. Worked closely with staff at all levels within organizations served to identify, trend, report, and overcome barriers to patient throughput or transfer processes while ensuring Medical Communications functions were consistently maintained during all hours of operation.

Through the completion of a 560+ hour preceptorship under the Community Education Coordinator at Planned Parenthood of La Crosse, collaborated with the Wellness Office at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse to incorporate sexual health education and wellness supplies into campus virtual events and activities. Additional tasks include creating, moderating, and presenting numerous virtual presentations including safe sex education and COVID-19 prevention to several Wisconsin high schools and universities.
