Working to understand the removal capabilities of 6PPD-quinone---the newly identified tire rubber contaminant responsible for killing coho salmon--using natural and engineered media, as well as the leaching of this compound from tire rubber-derived products

- Collaborated with two professors to develop the Pathways Program at Shoreline Community College to ease college navigation- Recruited and ran 3 two-hour focus groups with 5-7 to better understand the potential improvements in the college application process

- Collected and analyzed bacterial, chemical, and physical tests to determine the health of streams and later sent data to the City of Bothell. Collected data included dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity, fecal coliform, streamflow, temperature, turbidity, and macroinvertebrate count- Structured hands-on, 1st-5th grade lesson plans and taught 5 groups of 5-6 primary school students and tabled at the Pacific Science Center to teach environmental concepts

- Ensured patron and employee safety by maintaining pool facility through hourly chemical checks and enforcing Red Cross safety regulations in a pool of 20-100 people- Created daily lessons plans and provided instructional lessons for beginner level swimmers from ages 1-15 through demonstrating proper technique and giving hands-on feedback

- Coordinated and ran two 4 hour youth caucuses at King County’s Strategic Action Plan Public workshops to discuss actions the City of Seattle must take to address climate change- Held mural painting events to table about the disproportionate effects of the climate crisis on the Duwamish River and Tribe

- Developed laboratory skills through the use of PCR, SYBRsafe, CRISPR Cas9, and ELISA to detect and diagnose different types of breast cancer. - Worked with principal investigators to analyze bioethics within STEM and research and its implication to different Fred Hutch Labs, as well as the required steps for animal research approval.
