Hi there, I’m Carmen! People initially perceive me as an approachable and humorous person when they first meet me. As time goes on, I get the impression that I'm a cooperative teammate as well as an assertive and capable leader. I’m an individual who enjoys planning events and is always up for a challenge. In November and December of 2018 and 2019, I worked as a part-time sales assistant at Harriston Boutique, a chocolate shop located in a tourism center. This position required interaction with a large number of tourists from various countries which has vastly improved my language skills, especially English. I've also been a freelancer since the 2019 school holidays such as being a gift-packing crew. What I learned from these jobs are the skills of persuading people to trust and purchase a product, how to deal with different people, time management, and also the ability to improvise in various circumstances.During my high school years, I was a student who actively engaged in co-curricular activities. I joined Chong Hwa Police Cadet as my society club. Even with the hardships, I have joined this society ever since 2016 which shows my consistency and determination as a person. As I'm interested in managing and running campaigns, writing, and communicating, this society has also been my guide in choosing my Degree in Public Relations as my future career development. At university, I’m also trying to engage in school events currently as I joined Orientation Odyssey as a helper and attended the committee interview for Aloha Fiesta.All in all, I would consider myself a creative thinker who dislikes rigid things. Apart from that, I'm an optimist who does not give up easily; I prefer to deal with it and am not afraid to make mistakes. Plus, I am also a good listener in which I can empathize with others and communicate with them patiently, resulting in good teamwork.
