Carmina Portea Amador is a Lead Special Education Consultant at Scoot Education at Scoot Education. She possess expertise in event planning, microsoft office, public speaking, civic engagement, social media and 16 more skills. She is proficient in Tagalog and Spanish. Colleagues describe her as "What a team mate Carmina is that she consistently pushes you to grow, is great with building relationships and leads with empathy in the work she does. I met Carmina in October of 2022 when I began my time with Scoot Education. I was very excited but also feeling a bit of imposter syndrome. Carmina was always patient through teaching me the ropes of being a Scoot consultant and put forth the appropriate time to research or answer any questions I had even before I knew I would have them. This made things so easy to understand and was so helpful for me as a new consultant. As time passed I was able to shadow her working with our school partners at visits and learned how to anticipate a schools needs and note trends in the partnership to understand how to make our services better for their experience. Carmina took so much care with each school, district, and charter network. I was also able to see how she built trust with them by connecting with them regularly and making sure interactions were not transactional but with care and paying attention to even the smallest details. She also does this with the people she works with in the office. Taking note of things that are happening with us and celebrating things that are important to us outside of work. I think this is something that makes it some much easier to work with her because she understands how to create a positive work environment. Something I admire about being lead by Carmina is that as we have added members to our team, she has pushed me to lean into my past experiences as well as the knowledge and practices I’ve learned from her to become a mentor to other consultants in the office. Carmina is a leader who allows you to be yourself and celebrates the diversity of our team in a way that we are able to learn from each other’s strengths. If you’re ever looking for a leader with great attention to detail and a love for building connections and excellent service, Carmina should definitely be your top choice! "
