• Quarterly, Plan Administrator deliver a presentation to the Benefit Investment Committee, (BIC) which includes updates on health and welfare, defined contribution, and defined benefit plans.• Annual presentation to the Lab Director and senior management, with proposed changes to health and welfare plans for the following calendar year and budget impact of changes.• Annual presentation to the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) on health and welfare changes approved by the Lab Director, for approval by the DOE and NNSA.• Written proposals for any changes other than annual changes to the DOE and NNSA for approval.• Prepare denial/approval letters for employees or retirees disputing the language in the LLNS Plan Documents as it pertains to their situation with assistance from internal and outside counsel. • Served on BIC Request for Proposal (RFP) subcommittees.• Communicated changes to employees and benefits staff due to the American Rescue Plan Act and CARES Act. Secure Act and Secure Act 2.0. • Responsible for development, implementation, and delivery of Annual Funding Notices, non-discrimination testing, and Summary Annual Reports.• Work with our actuaries at Aon to monitor plans and provide required reports to the Department of Energy (DOE) through iBenefits and to the BIC.• Coordinate Fiduciary Insurance renewal.• Supervise benefits staff.
