Vanderbilt has allowed me to return to my Student Accounts roots by acting as the primary support for Student Financials. I handle all the behind-the-scenes processes that make the money world go 'round and help make improvements when I see the opportunity. In addition, I'm broadening my horizons with project management and implementations while learning bits and pieces about other systems/products that allow us to better serve the constituents of Vanderbilt. Some of those include: Kuali Build, DocFinity, Adirondack THD, monday.com, Jira, Confluence, Slack, CASHNet, Flywire, eFollett, Miro, Modo Marketplace, GET, and Transact. There's no lack of opportunity to learn at Vanderbilt!

I enjoy the role of primary technical and functional support for users of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, with emphasis in the areas of Student Finance, Student Records, and Admissions. This includes the creation, monitoring and maintenance of both delivered and custom automated processes that facilitate daily operations, many of which are Query Based Updates.I also act as liaison between the department and Office of Information Technology for troubleshooting, system updates and testing, translating technical jargon to functional users and functional operations to technical staff. This position has enabled me to become knowledgeable about the database structure of PeopleSoft and given me a proficiency in the use of Query Manager. I use that proficiency to fulfill a variety of routine and custom data requests for internal and external use.

This position enabled me to learn the basics of UNR and the Nevada System of Higher Education. SQL experience enabled me to extract infromation from a PeopleSoft-driven data warehouse to fulfill institutional reporting requirements. Among those were IPEDS, institutional census and ad hoc information to support academic planning. Software used included Toad, dBeaver and an introduction to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Query Manager.

I was privileged to act as the Office of the Bursar liaison to University Computing Services, and functional/technical lead for the Banner Accounts Receivable module. In addition, I served a more hands-on role as a customer service manager, supervising one full-time and eight part-time customer service and call center staff. Technical duties included testing prior to system upgrades, providing technical support and training to 25 staff and student employees, analyzing all aspects of departmental work flow to provide automation solutions.Reporting duties included responsibility for extracting accounts receivable data (and often performing analysis of that data) through SQL Developer and Argos reporting software. Year-end, aging, weekly accounts receivable, due diligence reports were all generated and some modified through other common software such as Excel. Administrative functions included developing and distributing all due diligence, student billing, miscellaneous correspondence and departmental publications. I was responsible for implementing changes in tuition by calculating and compiling updated fee charts. Those changes were then entered into Banner and audited before assessing to student accounts. Resulting waivers, contracts and refund schedules were also updated, and I published all to the departmental website. Additionally, I provided administrative support to the Bursar via executive correspondence, travel settlements and acting as budget officer.
