Among my accomplishments are that I have facilitated professional development for teachers and staff and have collaborated and planned with other teachers to achieve instructional goals. I have designed and differentiated instruction to meet student levels and needs, as well as having exercised flexible and creative problem-solving both in and out of a classroom setting. As an Information Literacy Specialist, I managed district, middle school, and elementary library budgets in excess of $170,000, including ordering books for 25 school libraries. In addition to book resources, I collaborated to develop a partnership with the King County Library system to provide database access for students in the Bellevue School District. To increase accountability, I identified a lack of metrics to measure information literacy knowledge and implemented assessments for Information Literacy (TRAILS). To achieve goals that were not funded at the district or school level, I wrote and obtained numerous local and national grants totaling over $10,000. With the end goal of enriching students' educational experiences, I scheduled guest speakers and established relationships with a wide variety of partners, including libraries, theaters, and City of Bellevue in order to provide field trips and experiential learning experiences for students. I supervised and taught Teaching Assistants (TAs), taught students who speak 47 different native languages other than English, and instructed students in test preparation methodology and material to prepare them to take the SAT and PSAT standardized tests. In many schools and settings, I have maintained a very high level of confidentiality with sensitive information. Show less
